I upgraded from 1.0.1 to 1.0.3 at one point, and could not remove the 1.0.1 using the control panel uninstaller. If you run into this situation you need to go get the installer for 1.0.1 from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/1.0.1/win32/en-US/ and reinstall it, then uninstall it.
